1-Where do you call home currently? My home is not a place but a time: Today. I am a fugitive from Yesterday and a stowaway from Tomorrow.
2-How would you describe Alberto Vignazia? Alberto Vignazia is Papibulldozer. Papibulldozer is Alberto Vignazia. But I don’t always agree.
3-Did you study art or is it all inherent? I attended the art school and the D. A. M. S. But when you eat and drink Art in order to survive, you never stop studying.
4-What do you dream about? Time travel and being the only one who can practice it.
5-How did you acquire your style? I didn’t decide on it, it happened without me wanting it.
6-How would you describe your work, painting, collage or ……. ? A crucible where I mix often monotonous and repetitive everyday life, the result is more interesting. It should not be explained or told in a linear way. Everyone is free to see what they want. I start the journey but it is not me who has to finish it.
7-What else interests you besides art? When one dedicates one’s life to art one must not exclude anything, every human experience is useful to complete one’s own artistic vision. Every activity, every language has potential that can be inspirational.
8-Who is your favorite artist? Currently there are two equal:
a film director: LARS VON TRIER
a cartoonist: MIGUEL ANGEL MARTIN.
9-What advice would you give putative collectors? Buy what you like, not what they tell you to buy.
10-What do you think about the idea that a work of art is never really finished, just abandoned. It’s not a question, it’s a fact. No work is ever finished.
11-What has the most influence on your work? Boredom and how to overcome it.
12-Do you listen to music while creating? If yes, what genre? Yes, I use Spotify. I choose artists based on the album cover. Something good can be found in unexpected and unpredictable places.
13-How would you like to be seen as an artist years from now? In three years I hope time travel is already possible and I will go and caress the dodos.
14-Do you have a place/person/thing that you visit for inspiration? Internet: news and porn sites. They are often complementary.
15-If you could have dinner with three artists living/dead who would be at your table? Caravaggio, Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Marina Abramovic. At the end of the dinner I would propose to play the “Hanger Games” … I am not sure of surviving, but I would be curious to find out how.
16-Name three things you can’t live without in your studio? Internet, various magazines, glue.
17-If you were asking the questions what question would you ask and please answer the question. What are you afraid of? That the theory of parallel universes is true and that in one of these there is another me who responds to this interview by telling his career as an economist.
