1-Where were you born and where do you currently live and create? I was born in lower Austria on the countryside. I moved to Vienna, when I was 18 and I still live and work here.
2-How would you describe Eileen Stern? Unknown.
3-What was your first experience with art as a kid? The music video by New Order, True Faith.
4-Have you ever come across a piece of art that you could not or did not want to stop looking at? No.
5-Do you create digital art work as well? And which do you prefer? I prefer both. I paint digitally when I am on a break from painting in the studio and with paint. The digital paintings of mine are quick experiences.
6-What was the first job you ever held? Visual merchandiser.
7-If you had to watch one movie on repeat for eternity, what would it be? There are too many great movies! Won‘t decide.
8-Where/when do you get most inspired? When I am bored.
9-The Future is ABSTRACT.
10-First thing you think/do in the morning? And Last thing at night? Which color to use next.
11-What is your least favorite part of the day? Night.
12-If you were not an artist, what would you have liked to be? Unable to imagine. Maybe a dancer.
13-If you could have dinner with 3 artists living/dead who would be at your table? Karl Lagerfeld, Willem de Kooning and Patti Smith.
14-Name three things you can’t live without in your studio? Canvas, color and pencils.
15-What forth-coming projects and or exhibitions do you have scheduled? “Upcoming Roots“
16-If you were asking the questions what question would you ask and please follow it with answer? – Why do you paint? I start a painting. Got something in my mind. I start with a color and another color and in between, maybe I am already done or nearly crazy, my body starts aching. I know I have to be patient now and not stop. Never stop, because in the end, when the painting is finished, I am completely satisfied and surprised to see what I was able to create. This is life itself. For me.
